Development

Quick Start Guide

  1. Assess your needs and resources. Review the hosting Service Level Agreement and web template information.
  2. New sites should request website hosting on our divisional web server. Existing sites do not need to (re-)request hosting in order to make site changes.
  3. Obtain web development assistance as needed. For help with finding a developer see the third-party developer page.
  4. Request web server access for any staff/faculty that need to edit site but do not already have access. Staff/faculty who edit existing sites as well as those who requested access as part of requesting site hosting do not need to re-request. Non-BSD staff/faculty will have a slightly different process to gain access.
  5. Use the template code and style guide to develop your new site.
  6. Deploy your new site following the steps in the Website Editor's Guide. If you are converting a site using the old template to the new template, please request assistance with the transition--there are a few keys steps BSDIS must do to move the old template.
